Infertility Help

stylised drawing of a couple back to back in bed

Over the last 2 decades, there has been a significant rise in the number of people who experience problems conceiving and for those who seek medical help, 30% are told they have unexplained fertility with no recognised medical problem.

The average age of women trying for their first baby has also risen, because many want to establish their careers before a family. Media hype about women over 35 being desperate for children and caught in a biological clock panic, has affected the beliefs of many women and their partners. As beliefs and thoughts have a powerful control over the body, these beliefs can become a reality. And if you tell yourself long enough that you don’t want a baby, as many women have to do because they are busy earning a living, your body listens.

Research also confirms that stress affects sperm quality and sperm counts will even lower, if a man has trouble conceiving and is stressed about it.

The more you try to become pregnant, the harder it becomes to achieve.

Hypnotherapy using relaxation techniques and imagery  /visualisation around conception, has been shown to have a greater conception rate then IVF, up to 50% more effective in the case of unexplained fertility. It accesses the subconscious mind where it can deal with issues related to infertility, which may not be consciously known to the individual. During hypnotherapy, the whole process of conception can be visualised; from the egg being fertilised, the foetus growing and finally the baby held in your arms.

Where there are symptoms of depression, psychotherapy can also assist because psychological distress can also impair fertility in both men and women. There is no doubt that there is ample clinical proof that hypnotherapy can assist both partners in dealing with conception problems, because the link between mind and body cannot be ignored.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

The Federal Health Minister, Greg Hunt, has advised that “ALL allied health businesses nationally can continue working and are encouraged to do”. He has encouraged providers to continue vital face-to-face services where possible.

These are challenging times for everyone, but your personal and relationship issues continue to need assistance. My practice is still open for hypnotherapy and individual or relationship counselling, including Rekindle the Love workshops.

If you are sick or have come into contact with the Coronavirus at any point, and/or if you have recently been overseas, please stay at home and contact me on 0407 009 050 to reschedule your appointment.

The safety of my clients and wider community is of utmost importance to me, and my home-based clinic is fully compliant with the new social distancing rules and hygiene practices. I have ensured that appointments are staggered so that you and your partner, where appropriate, are the only clients visiting my practice, at any one time.

Video and tele-consult sessions are available for both individuals and couples, including a program for couples to complete a Rekindle the Love workshop, online.
