MCAP, Dip. Clin. Hypno., PMAHA
With counselling experience spanning over 30 years by telephone and face to face, I have now been in private practice since 2003.
In 2006 I completed a Graduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy and then a Master of Counselling & Applied Psychotherapy in 2013. In addition, I have received training in Art Therapy, Sexual Abuse Survival and Couple’s and Family counselling and most recently attained diplomas in NLP and Clinical Hypnotherapy to add to my therapy tools. Read full qualifications here.
Prior to 2003 I also practised as a medical herbalist, remedial massage therapist and aromatherapist and continue to incorporate a holistic approach to my counselling practice. I am experienced in running group sessions, with men and women survivors of sexual, physical and emotional abuse, and have worked in several crisis telephone line entities, in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia.
I specialise in working with trauma survivors, especially those with PTSD and also in running workshops for couples; my intensive 2-day Relationship Rescue Retreat.
I bring worldly knowledge, training and empathy into my sessions with both individuals and couples. I am non-judgemental, accepting and compassionate, with a rich source of theoretical and practical knowledge combined with a passion to keep learning and growing, that benefits you, the client.
I would be delighted to talk to you about your individual therapy needs and expectations. Please contact me to make an appointment or just to chat about your issues and how therapy can be of assistance. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
